The Galmihorn hut is a popular destination in winter too – whether on touring skis or on snowshoes! From Münster in the Goms valley, you climb through the Bawald forest to the Galmihorn hut, 700 metres higher up. Built in chalet style, the hut is the base for freeride tours in the area and sits like an eagle’s nest high above the Goms. The view stretches from the Galenstock to the great Valais peaks, the Matterhorn and the Dufourspitze. Its beautiful setting, far from crowds and bustle, makes the Galmihorn hut a true gem. From the beginning of October to the end of June, the Galmihorn hut is unstaffed – but you can still stay overnight on a self-catering basis. For this, you will need the hut key.
